Part 1 - Etude

The etude for EDBDA High School auditions will be selected from one of the etudes selected by OKMEA. The portion (“cuts”) to be played will be selected by the EDBDA Auditions Manager and will be posted on the day of All-District Auditions.

Part II - Sightreading

The sightreading will be provided by EDBDA. Students will be given 30 seconds to silently review the sightreading and at the end of 30 seconds will be asked to perform given sightreading. This does not have to be memorized.

Scales are currently used at the second-round auditions for OKMEA and ARE NOT used for the purpose of EDBDA auditions. For your students auditioning for the second-round OKMEA click here for the required scale sets.

Students auditioning for OKMEA - will have a separate audition room from EDBDA auditions on the same day - it is a Pass/Fail process.
